Anyone For Tea And Paper Roses

Hi All (Jackie Here)

Have you ever typed your little heart out, and then all your writing diasappears ,well that has just happened to me ARGHHH ....... so frustrating.

Think I will definately need a cup of tea, and a bit of relaxing music to destress me now, take a deep breath Jackie and count to ten ...uhmmmmm.

Well our second CRAFTY FRIENDS MEETUP is nearly upon us ,yes, it is this WEDNESDAY 27 TH FEB 2013 .How the last ten days have flown, where have they gone to?
If you know, would you please let me know.

I have had so many new enquiries about our group so it looks like we will have an expanding group this Wednesday. Both Sue and myself  are so happy that there are so many people out there who would like to join us, and we are really looking forward to putting faces to emails and phone calls.

May I say a big thank to Sue for the lovely parchment card she made for myself and family on becoming a grandma to Evie-Grace my first grand child. It was beautiful and I may frame it as it is too lovely to put away in a box somewhere.Below is the card she made and you can see it is beautiful,it was graciously recieved.

This week I will ge giving a mini demo on how to make floral embellishments which do not cost the earth, but at the same time can be so effective, and can be used on so many projetcs.

I will bring along SAMPLES on how I have used them, and this perhaps will give some ideas on how to use them yourselves.
Below is a GENUINE VINTAGE TEACUP SET which I have made into a sweet pincushion, and have embellished with the paper roses which I will be making for you at our next meetup.

In the coming weeks I will be making this TEACUP(see below) as a "CRAFT A LONG SESSION" which I will tell you all about at the meeting and in the blog in the week.

If anyone is interested in making this just let me know, or remind at the group so I can let you have all the information about it.

Our newsletter will hopefully be put together for the 13th March Session,so if anyone knows of any good crafting type shops including wool, materials etc just let us know.
This could also be any good websites, as so many people shop on line these days.
If you could email them over ,or jot them down on a piece of paper for our next meetup we will make sure they are added to the newsletter.

Off to have my lunch now so will speak again soon, but please come back and visit us.
Why not add a comment at the end of this post just so we know we are not talking to ourselves.
If you would like to add a comment, but are struggling just drop us a line and of course we will always help you.

Take Care

New Venue-New Crafty Friends

Hi  to All my Crafty Friends,

Both Sue and myself would like to say a big thank you for everyone who came to our last crafty meetup 13th Feb 2013.

So many travelled to be with us, and with the horrible snow ,wind and rain we did not think anyone would turn up.

We would like to say "A BIG THANK YOU" to all that turned up on the day, it was great to meet you all.
It was also great to put faces and names together, as we had been emailing each other for quite some time until we got our new venue sorted out.

AT LAST we have our new CRAFTY HOME .......................
It is the Lowton Community Centre ,Church Lane,Lowton and it was lovely and warm ,extremely spacious and suited our needs perfectly.

Thank you to the lovely Laura who was so kind to do a mini demonstration for us, and we would all like to wish her the very best for her new Wedding Stationery Business.
Her work is lovely, and she has such a lovely way with people, I know her business will go from strength to strength.  Good Luck Laura you really deserve it.
We do hope that Laura will be able to come along on a regular basis, as she has so much to offer to our group.

One of the craft magazines have picked us up on the internet, and are putting us into their May edtion.
We have been asked for all information how Sue and I started the group, and also asked for photographs of the meetup.

Below are the photographs which will be sent over to them, so thank you all for agreeing to go into the magazine, you will all be famous for a day, hee hee.

I think you can see that we all had a wonderful crafty morning,I cannot wait for the next session to meet up with such a friendly group of ladies.

I will keep you all up to date to date as and when the magazine is out,so please keep checking back for up to date news.

Well I am off to have a power snack ,this is what my son told me I needed every day as it would help with my fibromyalgia.Apparently I should not go too many hours between meals without eating,  as eating foods that are not too sugary or starchy may help me with my energy levels.Off to eat my babybel cheese and an apple ,but will they give me all the energy levels that I need. Will keep you all updated on that one..............

Catch up soon, and do not forget to visit on a regular basis  and please, please leave a comment at the end of the posts just so Sue and I know that people really do read our blog.

WRITE YOUR COMMENT, AND THEN SUBMIT IT.

Valentines Baby-First Grandaughter

Hi All

On Valentines day  this year (last Thursday) I became a proud grandma to little Evie-Grace.
We are all so happy that she arrived safe and well, and everything went as smoothly as it could go.

It was my sons first baby and he is over the moon ,but he had convinced himself it was going to be a boy. Both of them did not want to know the sex so where waiting pateintly.

Oh boy!!!!! did they get a shock when it was a girl.....................

Of course I was pleased as we do not have any girls in the family ,so now it was my time to hit the shops for pink and more pink.

I think as long as the baby is healthy that is the main thing, and she is a lovely healthy little girl.

Below is one of her first pictures ,she is famous from nearly day one Heee Heee..........

I wonder if she will enjoy being a valentines baby ......... only time will tell.

Well off to do a little crafting, and will catch up with you all later on .

Bye For Now

Stampin Your heart Out

Hi All

Nearly the weekend again. This week has really flown by ,where do all the hours go to?
There never seems enough hours in the day , I need to put some extra hours into the day.
Any ideas how to do this ? hehe. If you do find a way, please let me know wont you?

I have been busy today doing a little of crafting. Some of my friends, and girlfriends of my sons have asked me to make something for their mums with it coming up to mothersday.

I decided to make something which they can display on their wall, and I am really pleased how it turned out.
I bought a standard wooden heart and then used my stampin up stamps and punches to start embellishing it.

Th background was stamped in the stamps from the STAMPIN UP  stamp set: Field Flowers and inked them using Soft Suede, Regal Rose using first first and second generation stamping. This gave a wonderful background to work on, and I have used this same stamp and tecnique on many of my cards that I have made.

The main focus of the heart was  the mini verses which are from the STAMPIN UP Pursuit Of Happiness Stamp set.
I chose this word set as I loved how inspirational the verses where. These where stamped on the co ordinating card colour Gumball Green and stamped in the black in the STAMPIN UP ink pad.

I overlaid the verses over the STAMPIN UP Old Olive scallop ribbon ,which co ordinates perfectly with the background perfectly.
The butterflies are my favourite they are from the papillon stamp set ,you stamp them first and I have used the matching punch which cuts them out perfectly.
They are stamped in gumball green ,regal rose, soft suede and look so life like.

I have finished off with adding small gems to the verses and a central bow with the same old olive ribbon.

I AM GIVING THIS HEART AWAY TO A LUCKY WINNER OF A FREE RAFFLE :

Anyone who joins us on the 13th of Feb for our  craft meetup will be entered into a free raffle and you will have the opportunity to win this lovely home decor heart.

Do hope you like the heart ,why not become a follower of the blog, and pop back next week to see who has won the heart.

Well my friends off to bed now so good night and speak soon.

Nighty Night

A Stampin Up Card for my Friend

Hi all

It was my friends birthday last week and ,I forget which is not normally like me .
If I know It is someones birthday I always make an effort to try and make them a card.I also try and make something for them as most of my friends really appreciate handmade items.

This week has been pretty sad, I lost my father In Law, so to be honest our house has been pretty topsy turvy to say the least.

I have just become an independent STAMPIN UP demonstrator, and have a wonderful selection of Stampin Up items which my family bought for me for Christmas  to enable me to start up with Stampin Up. I just love crafting so this was a great way to share my passion with family and friends.

I had been to a Stampin Up class a while ago and the products where top class .The stamps and the co ordinating punches are brilliant and from then I thought I would really like to try and use all of their products as I was so impressed with them.

The stamps are cushioned, and they come in the clear or wood mounted. I opted for the clear ones for for the fact I am running out of space with all my crafty bits and pieces.

Here is the card I made for my friend which I was really pleased with .I had a text from her to say it was beautiful, which is a lovely compliment and glad she liked it.

The card is below and do hope you like it.
If you would like to learn different papercraft tecniques  such as the one below why not join me at our regular craft meetup in Lowton community centre ,Church lane ,Lowton.(meetup details are on the right handside corner of the home page).

I just love the stamp sets that I have used to make this card, they are so crisp and clear.

Well my friends I am off to bed I am just so tired ,will finish off tomorrow and will let you know all the products I have used to make this card.

SLEEP TIGHT,
Jackie
